The orbit of Venus
around the sun takes 228 days, and orbits the sun 8 times while the earth
orbits the sun 5 times. Thus the dates of Venus as an Evening “star” are
constantly changing. If Venus was only used as a navigation guide during the
month of February it would be useful approximately every third year since the 9
months that it is the Evening star is constantly changing but is a regular
repeating cycle.
Venus as the Evening Star suitable during Voyaging Months VAV and Venus as the Evening Star but not during
Voyaging Months VNV from 1910 to 1920
